In 1989 944S2 was introduced, and powered by a 211 horsepower normally aspirated, dual-overhead-cam 16-valve 3.0L version of the 944S engine, the largest production 4-cylinder engine of its time. The 944S2 also received a revised transmission and gearing to better suit the 3.0-liter M44/41 power plant. The 944S2 had the same rounded nose and a rear valance found on the Turbo model. This was the first example of the use of an integrated front bumper, where the fender and hood profiles would merge smoothly with the bumper, a design feature that has only now seen widespread adoption on the 1990 onward production cars. Performance was quoted as 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds, with a top speed of 150mph via manual transmission. In 1990 Porsche released the 944 S2 Cabriolet, a first for the 944 line which featured the cabriolet body. This car is raced around the world and in the British championship called the Porsche Motorsport Championship. Production was limited to three years; 1989, 1990 and 1991. Only 1,824 '90 944S2 Convertibles came to the United States. This particular car is an extremely clean example that appears to be all original with no restoration ever being performed. With its black exterior and light gray interior the car is extremely clean and shows no major imperfections. The paint on the car is original and in very good condition overall but d s have a few small blemishes. As you can see in the photos, there are a few spots on the rear deck lid where the paint has been etched. There are also a few rock chips to the nose. All of the glass is in good condition. Inside, the seats are in great condition and show no major wear. The same g s for the carpet and dash which both look nearly perfect. This car shows that it was extremely well cared for its entire life. All power functions work as they should on the seats. There has been an aftermarket AM/FM stereo installed as well as a Blaupunkt equalizer. Under the hood, the 3.0 liter inline 4 cylinder runs great and propels this little Porsche convertible down the road with tons of power and speed. These little cars are a blast to take through the turns. The engine compartment is very clean and original. No aftermarket parts or modifications that we can see. In the trunk you will find a space saver spare. All manuals come with the car and are in the glove box. The mileage currently shows 123,469 and is original for the car. VIN number is WP0CB2945LN480911. The car is being sold on a clean New Jersey title showing the previous owner has had the car since 1994 when the car showed 38,738 miles.
